About Chatbotched

Chatbotched is a free daily game where you play an AI chatbot. Every day brings five real questions. Your job is to answer them the way a chatbot would, one block at a time, and to actually be right.

What kind of game is it?

It's a quick daily puzzle that mixes trivia with a parody of how chatbots talk. Each answer is built from eight short blocks. For every block you pick one of three, usually a right one, a safe but vague one and a confident misconception, before the clock runs out. Run out of time and your chatbot hallucinates.

Finished answers are priced like chatbot subscriptions, from Free Tier up to Superintelligence, so a perfect answer is worth hundreds of dollars a month and a confidently wrong one can land you in a Class Action. Read the full rules.

Why "Chatbotched"?

Chatbot, plus botched. Chatbots sound sure of themselves whether they're right or not, and the game is about telling the difference under time pressure. It was first called Great Question!, after the line chatbots love to open with, and the bot in the game still says it.

The questions

The questions are the kind people really ask: why we only see one side of the moon, what makes a leap year, whether you should switch doors in the Monty Hall problem. The facts behind the right answers were checked against sources, because a game that praises you for knowing things has to be right about them.

Common questions

Is Chatbotched free?
Yes. The prices in the game are your score, not something you pay.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. It runs in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer. Your progress and streak are saved in your browser.
When do new questions come out?
At midnight, your local time. You get one go at each day's questions.
How long does a game take?
About two minutes for all five questions.
Is a real chatbot answering while I play?
No. Nothing is generated while you play. Every block was written in advance and checked against sources, so everyone gets the same questions and the same answer key.
What happens to my answers?
To compare you with other players, the game counts how often each answer is given. It doesn't store who gave them or ask for any personal details.
Is it accessible?
Yes. It works with screen readers and keyboards, has an option for double time on the clock, and respects your device's reduced-motion setting.
